In this most recent post you are seeing that the Gilbert Instagram page had made a post about doing a giveaway. They are asking people to do a couple steps such as following them and another page, liking the post, commenting and sharing it with your friends to be entered into the giveaway. They say that they are giving away a rugby ball and you can have any club sign that ball before it gets shipped to you. I think this is a great idea for a post because they are really using all of their marketing tools. They are getting more attraction by having this post be shared around. Also the people that already love rugby or follow the company are getting excited because they get the chance to win a ball signed by whoever their favorite club is, which makes the fans feel happy, and feel as though they have a chance to feel a connection with their team. This in turn will make the customer that wins want to keep coming back and at the same time the contestants that lost will also want to keep coming back to get another chance at a giveaway prize.

Gilbert Rugby posted a few different times this week. The one that I had found was their latest post on Instagram. As you can see there is not much that was put into this caption but there is still a little bit of meaning. This caption is just exclaiming that there will be a lot of good games of rugby to watch. By posting this it can just help people find a reason to get together whether people want to go watch the games with their family, their friends, or whoever. By doing this it gives way for a social aspect and it will get people to start talking about the games that are coming up. With this post getting everyone to talk about rugby, it will make everyone start anticipating the games and they will not be able to wait for the start of the games. This may entice them to want to go outside and throw a rugby ball around themselves because of the excitement they have. This also helps their brand because Gilbert Rugby Balls are the most common rugby ball and by getting people to talk about rugby it makes them think of the Gilbert Rugby balls.

One of the more heartfelt messages that came from the Gilbert Instagram page was posted a day ago on October 8th. At the start of this post it is mentioning that the start of the women’s rugby world cup is starting just so people can stay excited to root for their favorite team and to be excited for just being able to watch some good games of rugby. This post is showing what the rugby and Gilbert company love and the athletes are loved between teams and opponents. This post shows that they are helping in the fight for equality by showing a lot of support towards women’s rugby. This is helping the imagination and possible dreams of younger girls that might want to play and with that post that Gilbert posted just helps these girls find the confidence that they may need to get out onto the pitch. These young fans can look up at these female athletes and see them as major role models that could help shape the life of some of these fans. These athletes are helping shape the next generation of athletes.

I enjoyed reading and seeing this post from Gilbert Rugby. Even though it was a short and simple post it holds a lot of power. Seeing them post about and push for equality between both men’s and women’s rugby is great to see. This is great for getting women that want to play rugby feel more confident seeing one of the biggest companies in the sport fight for equal support. It’s also just nice they did that because anyone that plays the sport should earn the utmost respect and should get recognition. The sport is not easy and does a lot of wear and tear on your body. This is just proving to everyone and getting everyone to realize that women’s sports are just as fun to watch as the mens and Gilbert stated that really well with this post. I play rugby here at UNE and I have a lot of friends on the women’s rugby team and I go out to watch their games all the time and those are fun as hell to watch along with it still being very competitive which is the same kind of entertainment you would get out of watching any of the guys teams. This sort of issue just needs to keep being brought up in positive ways which is going to be the best way to get that point across.

The main point of this post is to get people and the fans excited for a free giveaway for an amazing game. They are giving away two free tickets to a men’s rugby match between England and Japan at Twickenham. This is connecting with the fans and everyone that follows rugby because again it gets them excited for what is supposed to be a great game. Along with this it’s going to keep everyone talking about this game since everyone is going to be anticipating who is going to win the two free tickets to the game. One thing that I know from playing rugby is that it brings people together whether it be on the field between your teammates, after a match and both teams start to talk and connect or if you are just watching it from the sideline or couch, it will always bring people together. A lot of people talk about it as one big family so by posting this it will bring people, and especially actual families, closer together to enjoy a fun match between two great teams.
