MY BEST ADVICE: Thats a cool crystal and it really does seem like there is a lot of meaning behind this for you. I thought you did a great job with your storytelling and keeping a steady pace when you were sharing the story. I also thought you did great with how clear your voice was, it was very easy to understand what you were saying. I think one thing that you could work on is keeping a little more eye contact with the camera.

WHY ITS MY BEST ADVICE: I would have to say that I think this is pretty good advice that I gave to my peer because I gave a little bit of everything. I shared a couple pieces of feedback that this person could see that they did well on so they could see if they had been improving on their public speaking at the time. I also gave a small piece of advice that they could think about for future videos they do. By keeping more eye contact with the camera it will make me feel like I am sitting with you hearing the conversation and it will keep me engaged.

BEST ADVICE FROM PEERS: I loved your story and how 2 important things in your life have connected through a dog toy! I like how it kept me interested from when you started talking about tigger, then your dog and then how they connect at the end. I also like how you told the story from beginning to end and didn’t jump around. Something I think could use improvement is having less filler words or breaks, which is hard because it is something that comes natural to everyone when we talk.

WHY ITS THEIR BEST ADVICE: This was great advice and it helped me a lot because I have not always realized how much I use filler words when speaking. It had made me wonder how often I actually use those filler words when speaking in different settings whether it be talking with family, close friends, or speaking in front of a class. When I made the final version of this speech I had done a couple takes and what I found was that in my head during those few takes I didn’t use those filler words too much. When I went back I had used less filler words during my final version of that speech, but it was not nearly as much as I had thought when I was recording it. I am trying to lessen the amount I use them though.

MY BIGGEST STRIDES: I found the biggest improvement to be from the dry run of Speech 4 and the final run of Speech 4.  The biggest improvement was that I did not use filler words too much and in the dry run I had gone over the 5 minute mark because of filler words and long pauses between thoughts and when I got to the final run I had cut down on both of those thing so much that I cut more than a minute off of my speech because I was free flowing and quick between thoughts.  From 0:24 to 0:30 of my dry run video was just me blankly looking at the camera figuring out what to say and that was not the only time I did that.  At the 2:00 mark of my final run my transition from one story to the next was very smooth and quick and it worked well together and I only thought about what I was going to say for about 2 seconds and then continued my story. So I saw significant improvement in those areas between those two videos.  I think one of the biggest helpers to help me lessen my thought process was having a more full outline and it was neater so it made it easier to remember what I was talking about or what I was going to say next.  Between these two videos I think I found my biggest stride.
